The purpose of the Parish School of Religion (PSR) Program is to assist families with school-aged students attending public schools or being homeschooled by providing their children with a Catholic religious education. Classes are offered from Kindergarten through Tenth grade. Our program has taken place on Monday and Tuesday evenings. For Kindergarten. Jump Start and God's Special Children, those classes are on different Sundays. The Office of Religious Education requires Catholic catechesis or instruction from the Parish to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. The parents or guardians of the students enrolling in the PSR program are expected to be registered, active members of our parish. If you have questions about your parish member, you can contact the Parish Office at 985-845-7342. We request that full tuition be paid, if possible, at the time of registration.
Religious Education Requirements for Sacraments - Sacraments are received at a parish not a school. The Archdiocese requires that students preparing for First Holy Communion must attend both 1st and 2nd Grade religious education classes. The Archdiocese requires that students preparing for Confirmation must attend 9th and 10th Grade classes religious education classes. The Sacrament of Confirmation is received in the Fall of 11th Grade. We ask that students transferring from another PSR program or a Catholic School provide proof of attendance for these required years. All forms I(parent student guide / registration form / parishioner form *if not registerd with St. Anselm) and payment must be submitted in order for your child to be registered.
